The bad news: The world is in an environmental, social and economic crisis, ICO’s are vacu- ous pump and dump schemes without use cases, crypto-conferences don’t accept cryptocurrency, t- shirt or suited MLM shills scam greedy newbies and the narrow-minded divide-and-conquer strategies of Wall Street are co-opting much of the blockchain space – sad. The good news: Although the World Sustainability Project and Republic of Conscience (now ConscienceLAND) was brewing long before meeting Jake Smith, Chandler Guo, Li Xiaolai and Lichuang Gong (and many others at Beijing’s storied Cheku Cafe in 2013), after meeting those early adopters, idealists and revolutionaries I began to understand how a decentralized, incorruptible value transfer platform called the blockchain could serve humanity in a non-monetary sense.
